Camden, NJ- On the evening of Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, LAEDA welcomed the students of the Entrepreneurial Development Training Program (EDTP) Session 99. The students were selected from an application pool of 108 candidates based on their experience, desire, and ability to move their businesses forward in a meaningful manner.

Camden, NJ- On Wednesday, March 13, 2024, LAEDA hosted the final class of its Women’s Business Academy (WBA) Session 98. The class brought together five highly motivated and dedicated entrepreneurs, representing a vast variety of industries including beauty industry, notary industry, retail store, online retail store and custom printing services. Over the course of the nine-week program, participants received 72 + hours of training from industry professionals as well as business planning education and business counseling.

Camden- On Thursday February 29, 2024 LAEDA held its virtual training called Selling to Large Corporations & Government Agencies where small businesses attended to take the guesswork out of the procurement process when they consider doing business with large corporations or government agencies. The virtual room was filled with valuable information from the following speakers: (1) Ana Villagran, Certification Auditor at The State of New Jersey Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services; (2) Mariana Hinojosa, LAEDA’s Assistant Program Manager- Women’s Business Center; (3) Jamila Powell, LAEDA’s Program Manager- Women’s Business Center; (4) Merfred "Mimi" Feliz, Camden Verified Coordinator - LAEDA Business Services Center; and (5) Jennifer Ortiz, owner of Creations by Jenn.

Camden- On Friday March 1, 2024 Angel Ramos, a participant of LAEDA’s Entrepreneurial Development Training Program Session 97 from our Nine- Week Program invited his family, friends and LAEDA team to help him and his business team celebrate the Launch and Ribbon cutting of their business.

Camden- On Tuesday February 13th, thanks to the efforts of the Camden Verified Program, LAEDA was able to do the first match of a local florist, Creations by Jenn, with Subaru. Jennifer Ortiz, owner of Creations by Jenn, had the honor to participate as a vendor for Subaru of America in Camden. Subaru has always been very passionate about their involvement in the city by working with small Camden based businesses through their community partner relationships. At this event, Subaru inquired about florist who would be interested in selling flowers or small bouquets in their facility for Valentine’s Day.

Camden, NJ - On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, LAEDA hosted a virtual tax event where business owners attended to get their tax questions answered as they prepared for their 2023 filing. The virtual room and discussion was filled with information and resources including Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting, tax forms, tax law, and tax preparation strategies. Presenters included Odessa Jackson, Victor Garrido, CPA, EA of GG CPA Services, and Osiris Jamaal Jackson of Safe and Sound Stewards Accounting Services.
