Camden- On Tuesday February 13th, thanks to the efforts of the Camden Verified Program, LAEDA was able to do the first match of a local florist, Creations by Jenn, with Subaru. Jennifer Ortiz, owner of Creations by Jenn, had the honor to participate as a vendor for Subaru of America in Camden. Subaru has always been very passionate about their involvement in the city by working with small Camden based businesses through their community partner relationships. At this event, Subaru inquired about florist who would be interested in selling flowers or small bouquets in their facility for Valentine’s Day.
Creations by Jenn is a Camden Verified business that has not only gone through the verification process, but has proven to have the skills and capacity necessary to offer its services to large companies, such as Subaru. With her impressive arrangements and constant flow of customers, Jenn was able to sell 80% of her inventory. “Everyone at Subaru is very welcoming, very nice, and so helpful!” said Ms. Ortiz. “I am very happy that I decided to go through the process of Camden Verified, otherwise I would not have had this opportunity,” added Ms. Ortiz. Subaru was so impressed with the success of the vending event, that Ms. Ortiz was asked to go back again in March for International Women’s Day! We at LAEDA are very proud of the accomplishment achieved by Creations by Jenn.
“This is a great example of how the Camden Verified program works. Matching a large organization with a local small business to offer goods/ services is what we strive to do ,” said Merfred Feliz, Camden Verified Program Coordinator. “When LAEDA was approached by Subaru, it was pretty easy to find a reliable established business due to the vetting process of the program. We were able to provide some options of florists to meet Subaru’s request”, Feliz added.
