Bridgeton, NJ – On April 16, 2013 the Latin American Economic Development Association, Inc. (LAEDA) wrapped up its EDTP Quick Start Series en Español with Credit Management for Entrepreneurs workshop. The evening was topped off with a ceremony awarding Certificates of Completion to participants.

Gabriela Sanchez the lead instructor and Technical Assistance for LAEDA capped off the series with the Credit Management for Entrepreneurs workshop, which oriented participants on the credit process, how their score is calculated and strategies to start fixing “hurt” credit today.  “Credit for a business is the like the air we breathe to stay alive.  Without good credit you won’t be able to effective purchase supplies and materials, lease a space or access capital,” Ms. Sanchez explained to the participants.

“The Quick Start Series was a resounding success,” said Ray Lamboy, President & CEO of LAEDA. “We had 60 individuals from every walk of life participate in the series’ workshops.”  “Congratulations to Gaby and the entire LAEDA staff on delivering another successful Quick Start Series en Español,” he went on to say.  When addressing the participants, Mr. Lamboy congratulated them on the pursuit of knowledge, and continued, “this is just the beginning, you must take what you learned here and put it into practice tomorrow and LAEDA will be here to help you.”

“We had a great mix of startups and existing business owners participate in the series, 22 and 25 respectively” explained Ms. Sanchez.  “We had a great cross section of businesses as well including, restaurants, commercial cleaning companies, photography studios, transportation, construction and even a livestock business.”

The EDTP Quick Start Series is a series of 5 workshops; ABC’s of Starting a Small Business, Creating a Plan of Action – Business Planning I & II, Getting the Word Out – Marketing 101 and Credit Management for Entrepreneurs.  All the workshops in the series are taught in Spanish with all materials in the Spanish language.
