ON THE GROUND: Call For Artists in Camden, NJ

Flying Kite Media is accepting proposals for art in the vacant storefront of 433 Market St in downtown Camden, NJ for display from May 16 to July 30.

This opportunity is open to artists:
- who live or hold a studio in Camden, NJ
- working in any medium
- interested in showing work that is responsive to the theme of Transformation
 
Deadline for submissions is May 13. Opening exhibition and reception will be held on Thursday, May 16 from 5-9pm at 433 Market Street. Artists will be notified no later then Monday morning, May 13 and will be asked to install that week. Participating artists with works for sale will receive 100% of sales. 
 
Flying Kite will have space for about 20+ artists (dependent on size of pieces, etc) and will likely as participating artists to submit 1-2 pieces (dependent on size). 
 
This exhibition is being presented through Flying Kite's On the Ground program. ON THE GROUND is a pilot initiative of Flying Kite that creates a temporary media hub in a vacant or under-utilized storefront or building and takes a deep dive on neighborhood transformation through news coverage, events and social media. After 90 days, it's on to the next neighborhood. 
 
The grassroots media company is hoping to bring together artists and residents in Camden, NJ to celebrate creativity and innovation, which can serve as a catalyst for business and cultural development throughout Camden, especially along its commercial corridors.
