Camden, NJ – LAEDA put its newest technology to work to benefit business owners in Pleasantville, NJ. Through its Women’s Business Center, LAEDA brought business education to members of the beginnings of a merchant’s association on Pleasantville’s main street.

Celeste Fernandez of Fernandez Services, LLC, an insurance agent on Main Street contacted LAEDA about providing business education to her fellow business owners in their native language, Spanish.  The result was a webinar on Writing a Business Plan presented on a large monitor in her office where she hosted the merchants.

The Spanish webinar was publicly webcasted from the LAEDA headquarters in Camden. WBC Assistant Program Manager Alex LaBant delivered the presentation during which he shared best practices and writing tips for those representing the restaurant, construction, and insurance industries on the webinar.

“This was a great opportunity for us to leverage technology and share our educational resources with a group of business people that might not have reached out to us.   Creating a variety of ways to access our business education offerings allows us to reach into all the counties in our service area more often,” said Alex LaBant. “The technology enhancements we have here at LAEDA and the Women’s Business Center allow us to connect with entrepreneurs in a wider area without their having to travel to us.”
