Sewell, NJ -- It is not just college students using the computer lab classrooms at Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC). On September 4, LAEDA hosted a workshop for small business owners on the topic of Facebook Basics for Business.

The room was full as both new faces and well-established alumni who represented a variety of industries seeking to utilize social media giant, Facebook, for their businesses. One attendee, who recently received business counseling with WBC counselor Alex LaBant, did not have a social media account for her brand new daycare. When she came into the room, she very excitedly told him she had attracted her first client. It was a true testament to the complementary and powerful outcomes that LAEDA coaching and training can produce when combined.

Seminar instructor Jamie Shanker covered all the bases as it relates to Facebook, going into detail about the differences between personal and business accounts; about how often and when to schedule a post; instruction regarding the use of ads and boosted posts; and so much more. Clients in both service and product based industries learned to think strategically about how to leverage business accounts to both serve old clients and attract new ones. The RCGC computer lab was put to good use as attendees were able to troubleshoot and resolve challenges in real time. Clients were also encouraged to claim their Google business listings, a step the LAEDA team considers integral to rounding out an online presence.

As usual, it was one of the most popular seminars throughout the year. Small business owners generally know it is important to explore social media as a marketing strategy – LAEDA helps them think critically about which platform is most appropriate and why. If you have questions about your own strategies and the role that Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google, YouTube, or others might play in your business, please reach out to schedule an appointment with our team of counselors today.
