Pennsauken, NJ – Cooper River Park is now home to the mouth-watering aroma of cilantro sliders on perfectly crunchy tostones, freshly fried breakfast pastelillos, and many more Puerto Rican favorites.

Davit Martinez, Owner and Chef of Gita’s Mobile Cafe launched the grand opening of his food truck on Friday, August 20. Over 75 customers showed up, and were impressed by the variety of menu items and variations of traditional Latin American cuisine.

“I combine my Spanish influence with American and put my own flair to it, combining both of them with a unique flavor,” explains Martinez.

Martinez attended LAEDA’s Entrepreneurial Development Training Program (EDTP) last fall in 2020, and will be graduating with 39 fellow entrepreneurs in October this fall. During this past spring, he also completed the Cultivating Small Business (CSB) Program in conjuction with Santander Bank.

“LAEDA’s Entrepreneurial Development Training Program gave me more of the business information in-depth—it gave me the foundation. The Cultivating Small Business program then gave me the wings and access to other entrepreneurs already grounded in the food industry,” Martinez adds.

Gita’s Mobile Cafe menu includes buffalo and cheese steak egg rolls, mac and cheese bites, mofongo (plantain mash with bell peppers, chicken and pork), Davit’s Famous Wings, Cuban sandwiches, and much more.
